We are officially done with 2018!
Now, we can look forward to all the things that 2019 has to offer like a number of blockbuster films and highly anticipated sequels.
To prepare you for what’s to come, we’ve rounded up 15 of this year’s most anticipated films.
From Taraji P. Henson’s What Women Want remake to Jordan Peele’s terrifying Us, 2019 is shaping up to be a year of films you won’t want to miss.

Samuel L. Jackson stars as Elijah Prince, a.k.a. Mr. Glass, in M. Night Shyamalan’s third installment of the Unbreakable series. The film follows the conclusion of Split and sees Jackson’s Price orchestrating numerous events as he manipulates Bruce Willis’ David Dunn and James McAvoy’s Kevin Wendell Crumb.

Taraji P. Henson stars in this upcoming remake of 2000’s What Women Want. The film sees Henson’s Ali Davis suddenly given the ability to read men’s minds as she tries to work her way up in a male-dominated sports agency.

Back in December, Jordan Peele delivered the chilling trailer for his upcoming follow-up to 2017’s Get Out. Us stars Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke as Adelaide and Gabe, a mother and father who take their children on vacation to Adelaide’s childhood beach house. However, things get weird when uninvited visitors arrive.

As the title suggests, things are coming to an end for the Avengers, but first, they must defeat Thanos. The film picks up in the aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War, where Thanos wiped out half of the world with a snap of his fingers. Will T’Challa return? Where is Shuri? Will all of the Avengers make it out alive?

The Shafts are teaming up to uncover a mystery in this upcoming action-packed film that sees three generations of Shaft men working to uncover the truth behind a friend’s death. Samuel L. Jackson and Richard Roundtree star as John Shaft II and John Shaft I, respectively, with Jessie T. Usher joining as John Shaft Jr.

The trailer for F. Gary Gray’s Men In Black: International went viral back in December, with fans giddy to see Tessa Thompson teaming up with Thor: Ragnarok castmate Chris Hemsworth for this action-packed spin-off of the Men In Black series. The spin-off follows Thompson and Hemsworth’s characters, Agent M and Agent H, as they focus on an international murder mystery.

A new toy? A road trip? Toy Story 4 is sure to tug at our heartstrings as Woody, Buzz, and the gang welcome a new toy named Forky and set off for a new adventure.

Zendaya and Tom Holland return for Spider-Man: Far From Home, the sequel to 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. The film sees Peter Parker on summer vacation with friends when danger strikes and a new villain bursts onto the scene.

There are a number of reasons to be excited about the upcoming live-action take on Disney classic The Lion King, but reason number one: Beyoncé! Queen Bey will voice Nala, while Donald Glover takes on the role of Simba. James Earl Jones will reprise his role as Mufasa and Chiwetel Ejiofor will voice Scar.

Idris Elba joins action-thriller Hobbs & Shaw, starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, as the titular duo form an unlikely alliance to take on Elba’s Brixton, an international terrorist and criminal mastermind.

Starring Will Smith and directed by Ang Lee, Gemini Man is a sci-fi drama that sees an aging hitman facing off against a younger version of himself.

Currently slated for a November release, Queen & Slim stars Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith as a couple whose evening takes a turn when they are pulled over by a cop. The film is directed by Melina Matsoukas and written by Lena Waithe.

Currently untitled, the plot for the upcoming sequel to 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle is being kept under wraps. Still, the film’s main cast, including Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson, is set to return.

The third and final installment of the Star Wars trilogy is reportedly set one year after the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. No details are known and fans are eager to see how the film will address Carrie Fisher’s passing after it was reported that her character, Leia Organa, would have a key role in the film.
