Tulsa County CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security) launched its website this week to provide transparency and connect business owners and residents to Tulsa County CARES programs.

Tulsacountycares.org links residents to CARES programs, tracks stories and provides transparency resources, including an interactive map and financial summaries. Data is updated weekly as new funding is approved.

On Monday, the Tulsa County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved an additional $4.5 million to small businesses and nonprofits through the Tulsa County RESET (Resources to Empower Small Enterprises for Tomorrow) program. In total, $14.7 million has gone to small businesses in forgivable loans and $3.5 million has gone to nonprofits in grants after five weeks. 257 small businesses and 58 nonprofits throughout all of Tulsa County received funding thus far.

Including all approved and discussed allocations, the Tulsa County CARES review committee has committed $64,025,766.46. This figure includes Tulsa Housing Authority’s full $14.25 million request for rental assistance, $30 million allocated for the RESET program, direct reimbursement to individual agencies, departments, and municipalities and others. It is 56.3% of the initial $113,690,799.60 Tulsa County CARES Fund.

The website’s interactive map includes summaries of direct and indirect benefits to municipalities through Tulsa County CARES programs. The population-adjusted summaries include countywide programs in support of the Tulsa County Election Board, Tulsa Health Department, Tulsa Area Emergency Management Agency, Tulsa Housing Authority and others. Summaries also include direct reimbursement for COVID-related expenses to municipalities and RESET funds given to businesses and nonprofits in each city.

Tulsa County CARES and the RESET program continue to accept respective applications from local governments, agencies, nonprofit service providers and small businesses. For more information about RESET and other Tulsa County CARES programs, go to tulsacountycares.org.
