On Tuesday, small business owner and U.S. Navy Veteran, Ty Walker, officially announced his bid to be the next Mayor of the City of Tulsa. With eight people vying for the job, Ty is confident that his service in the military and life long experience as a small business owner makes him the best man for the job.

Ty says his top focus is economic development and more support for small business and entrepreneurs. He also hopes to use his life experiences and capabilities to connect with both sides of the isle to bring unity to a very divided Tulsa. Should Ty win the Mayoral race, Ty will be the first African American to serve as Mayor of Tulsa since its inception in 1898.

“As a business owner, I understand the challenges that we face economically and I know that the solution starts with putting those in our community back to work. It starts with growing an environment where businesses can flourish,” says Mr. Walker. “ Tulsans have always displayed an incredible entrepreneurial spirit, it is one of the defining characteristics of our city. However, our leaders must come alongside our businesses to help them grow and prosper.”

Mr. Walker is running against incumbent G.T. Bynum, who has been under a tremendous amount of scrutiny over the past two months, and six other candidates. You can visit Ty’s campaign website at For more information about Ty, contact Charity or Matt at or at 918-943-0514.
