The Oklahoma Eagle Newswire
Thank you for continued support of Tulsa children and families – particularly over these last few months as we have navigated through these unprecedented and uncertain times. Now that the most unusual 2019-2020 school year is behind us, we are focusing all of our time and energy on preparing for a strong and safe start to the 2020-2021 school year.
We know that Tulsans have a lot of questions about what school will look like next year: How will we manage social distancing? Will there be more COVID-19 related closures? When will the year start and how will we safely and effectively return to in-classroom learning? The team at Tulsa Public Schools is working through these questions and many others to figure how to safely ensure that we are together in-person as much as possible in the 2020-2021 school year.
Community voices will play an important role in developing our plan for the 2020-2021 school year, so we are asking that you take a few minutes to complete our planning survey at www.tulsaschools.org/2021survey. We need to learn more about what worked well and what needs to improve, but we also need to understand how Tulsans feel about things like staggered schedules that allow for social distancing, a longer school year that provides more time to disinfect classrooms, or periodic shifts between traditional and distance learning based on rates of COVID-19 infection over the fall and winter.
Our 2020-2021 planning survey is open to parents, students, and community members and will remain open through 5 p.m. on Friday, June 12. The survey is available on our website at www.tulsaschools.org/2021survey. Please help us reach as many Tulsans are possible by sharing the survey link with your colleagues and constituents. I have also attached social media graphics in English and Spanish to use to promote the survey.
We will continue to share information and updates about our planning for the 2020-2021 school on our website at www.tulsaschools.org/back2school. We look forward to hearing your thoughts, comments, feedback, as we work together to plan our next school year.
