“Stories of the Heart”… has been nominated as a Finalist in the  “Best Documentary Feature” category of the Bare Bones Film Festival being held the week of April 23 –  28, 2019, Muskogee, OK.

The film was written, produced and directed by Margaret Rose Tucker and shot on location in Taft, OK. Matt Baber is Camera Operator/Editor, and Luke Reither and Preston Hawkins are Mic Boom Operators.

Driver descendants of Felix Wesley Driver and Gertrude Ross Driver portray their ancestors in a homespun docudrama which  includes, in part,  historical documentation from the OK Land Run of 1889, Dawes Commission interviews, WW1 and WW11] documents, 1918 Taft Agency school records, State and Federal Census Records, archival news articles and footage.

These cast members are cousins:

The film stars 14-year-old ‘Nakita Ingram’, who portrays the Producer’s Mother, Margie, as a teenager Shanise Brown has dual roles as her young Great Grandmother, Mary Driver Whitley and as mature Margie. Darrell E. Pope plays Felix W. Driver as Mayor, Sheriff, Sun School Supt.  and Father of the bride – Mary Driver Whitley. Carl S. Foreman, Sr. Is Grandfather Steve Whitley and the Groom. Linda Ingram is Mother of Nakita and portrays her Great Grandmother, Mary, as a mature person. Margaret Ann Pope Taylor, sole living Driver descendant in Taft is  Mother of Shanise Brown & Linda Ingram Grandmother of Ingram children plays – The Seance Lady. Josiah Miles Townsend is Producers Grandson – Lil Hezekiah sowing seeds in the field. Kameron Ingram, son of Linda Ingram, plays the “In  Between Guy” and Hog Thief. Nakerra Ingram, daughter of Linda Ingram, plays Helen Lois/Part of Margie’s Brood Margaret Rose Tucker – Great Grandmother Gertrude, Grandmother Lela “Lamb” Driver Miller, Fannie Bell Driver Martin, Helen Driver Manuel and El Reno “Crillie” Driver Lewis.

Special appearances by then-Mayor Elsie Gandy Ceasar. Helen Lois Lucas then 88, was the oldest Driver in OK Land Run Scene.  Michelle Terrell helps her son Brycen Alan Wright and Granddaughter, Cambri Amyra Miller, then age 5, the youngest Driver in the Film, to stake claims in the OK Land Run scene.  Cambri represents the 6th generation of Felix and Gertrude in Fannie Bell Driver Martin’s line.  Fannie Bell was a life long resident of Taft, OK.
