This is the second annual Tyler Lockett’s Light It Up Foundation Thanksgiving event. The mission of the Light It Up Foundation is to serve underprivileged youth and families in need in the Tulsa and Seattle communities.  The Motto of the foundation is “Everyone Deserves A Chance To Shine In Life.”

The Light It Up Foundation has partnered with six (6) community churches to identify families in need and provide them with a complete Thanksgiving Basket where they can enjoy an excellent dinner. The event is scheduled for Friday, November 16, at the Gilcrease Hills Club House located at 1919 W. Seminole Street Tulsa.

Tyler stated, “This community has invested so much in me as a youth, how could I not invest back in this community.  This community has meant so much to me and has been partly responsible for me becoming the man that I am today.”

Tyler Lockett attended Carver Middle School and was a stand-out in basketball and football at Booker T. Washington High School.  He graduated from Kansas State University and was recognized as an academic and athletic all-American. Tyler was a Consensus All-American in football at Kansas State.

Tyler was drafted in the National Football League (NFL) #69 overall by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2015 draft.  Lockett is in his fourth season with the Seahawks.  He is a three-time All-Pro and 2015 Pro Bowler as a returner.  He is presently a starting wide receiver and returner for the Seahawks.  In 2018, Tyler is tied for third (3rd) in the NFL in touchdowns with seven (7) through nine (9) games.  He has 33 receptions on 44 targets and 483 yards.  In his three and one-half years Tyler has amassed 170 receptions for 2,299 yards and sixteen (16) touchdowns.  He also has 2,644 yards on kick returns and 968 yards on punt returns.  He has accumulated 6,152 All Purpose yards.

Tyler states, “I only wish I could be there, but we are working hard to make the playoff.  I would like to wish all of the families a Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless all of You.” I only hope that I will be able to return in December to participate in my second annual Tyler Lockett Christmas Party for kids.
