Oklahoma Ballerz Incorporated is a non-profit 501(c)(3) afterschool enrichment program dedicated to education, mentorship, and positive development of our youth with emphasis on basketball as the catalyst for their development.  Currently focusing on females ages 7 to 18, this program has sustained excellence in the classroom, community service, and athletics. Student-athletes are surrounded by a positive environment and mentors who stress education.

Tyler Lockett’s interest in promoting youth success has led to a partnership between the Light It Up Foundation and Oklahoma Ballerz Incorporated.  Tyler knows the importance of positive mentors in the lives of youth.  He continues to give back to Tulsans and the surrounding community while giving the young ladies of this organization a chance to be successful.  Tyler’s assistance has given this organization immeasurable momentum while providing opportunities to individuals which would have been difficult to attain otherwise.

Tyler is in his fourth year as a wide-receiver/punt and kick returner for the Seattle Seahawks. Tyler’s Light It Up Foundation motto is “Everyone Deserves A Chance To Shine”.  The foundation deals with education and youth development.

Oklahoma Federal Ballerz was started by Fred Frierson 19 years ago.  Over the years, it grew to be “More Than Basketball” and Oklahoma Ballerz Incorporated was born.  Mentors such as Coach Alan Blount are involved in the organization.  Blount has dealt with youth in the Tulsa community for almost 40 years in some capacity.  This has led to many of his former players wanting to give back.

In football, Tyler has been outstanding thus far in 2018.  He has 17 receptions for 249 yards 3 touchdowns through four games.  He has also been outstanding in the return game.

Tyler has been a great Seahawk, an incredibly productive player. Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll said, “You can check his numbers–nobody’s done more than he’s done in his years in the league in terms of total yards. He’s just been such a great competitor for us. This is a great chance to reward him accordingly and make him a Seahawk for a long time.”
