QuikTrip has confirmed plans for a new north Tulsa location.

The Tulsa-based convenience store chain will be building a store on the northeast corner of Pine Street and Peoria Avenue.

The property is the site of a Fiesta Mart that closed last fall.

Demolition work should begin shortly, with the construction of the store commencing in midsummer.

The store is expected to open in December, said Mike Thornbrugh, a spokesman for QuikTrip Corp.

“That’s an area of town we’ve been eying for a while,” he said. “We don’t have a lot of representation in that area, and we needed to have the right place and the right time, and this store is it.”
