The historical First Baptist Church of North Tulsa, located at 1414 North Greenwood Avenue, Tulsa Okla., celebrates its 118th anniversary on Sunday, November 19, 2017.  The theme for the Anniversary, taken from Colossians 3:23, is “Working for the Lord with All Your Heart.” Celebration services begin at 11:00 a.m.

First Baptist Church of North Tulsa traces its beginnings before Statehood in 1899.  Throughout its history, the Church has played a pivotal role in this community’s fight against racial disparity and injustice.

It is with honor and congratulatory wishes that Pastor Anthony L. Scott and First Lady, Kelly Scott will preside over the celebration.  The charismatic Reverend Victor A. Paul of Greater First Baptist Church in Bartlesville, Okla., will deliver the celebratory message.

As one might expect the worship service will be filled with musical praise renditions from the Mass Choir, the Praise Team and solo arrangements of Rev. Ricky McNeal of Purcell, Okla., Deacon Russell Davis and Caesar Latimer, Jr.  The service will also include recognition of the Church’s Trailblazers presented by Deacon Darrell Walker, and include a reading of the Church History by Antoinette Jackson Hazley.

The service will be followed by a dinner in the church’s Stalnaker Hall at 1:00 p.m. with church family and their guests.

The church extends an invitation to all its friends and the Tulsa community at large to celebrate its special day and to renew its commitment of working for the Lord with its heart.
