Rep. Maxine Waters Absolutely Shreds Trump’s Pitch To Black Voters

By Ed Mazza

He asked. She answered.

Nearly a year ago, Donald Trump courted black voters by asking, “What the hell do you have to lose?”

Now, more than six months into the president’s term, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) says the nation’s black community has its answer.

The 14-term congresswoman wrote:

Trump asked what Blacks had to lose. It was apparently healthcare, housing, college admission, & freedom after Sessions locks everyone up

Sessions is a threat to our democracy, working to reverse civil rights gains in college admission, police misconduct, & crim justice reform

Coretta Scott King warned everyone in ’86 about Sessions’ “reprehensible conduct” & “abuse of elderly black voters.” Sessions hasn’t changed

Sessions’ history of hardline positions against criminal justice reform, immigration & the violence against women act are well documented

Trump wants to fire Sessions b/c he can’t count on his protection. He should be fired for his racist agenda – but that’s why Trump chose him

Waters has rapidly become a social media star in progressive circles for her staunch opposition to Trump’s agenda. Last week, a video of her confrontation with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin went viral and inspired a gospel song.
