With speculation surrounding the plausibility of a release date for the forthcoming Tupac biopic, All Eyez On Me, those attached to the film seek to place fans’ anxiety at ease.
According to Dominic Santana, who’ll portray Death Row Records co-founder, Suge Knight, the Benny Boom-directed film will be released on the “Dear Mama” rapper’s 46th birthday (June 16, 2017). On Instagram, the actor said they’re on track to meet the film’s debut, despite the controversy that has surfaced since dropping its trailer earlier this year.
“We’re all anxious for it to come out but people gotta remember it’s a major film and there’s a lot of process to releasing major films,” he wrote. “Because it was Tupac a lot of buzz was created word of mouth even while we were filming which usually doesn’t happen until a movie is about to come out. This was no regular movie so you’ve been hearing about it since we started.”
Producer L.T. Hutton also shared with fans that a release date was coming soon, and publicized his honest thoughts on how the film’s image nearly got skewed in the public.”There is way more to putting out a film than just saying what’s the release date where is the trailer!! he wrote. “Hollywood will not be allowed to mess this film up! So that means as long as it takes!
