Talk about a culture shock.
Janet Jackson and her billionaire husband Wissam Al Mana separated after realizing they came from entirely different backgrounds, a family insider claims.
A source close to the Jackson clan told People magazine that the “Nasty” singer was always trying to adapt to her husband’s Middle Eastern culture but their differences became “even more obvious” after the birth of their son Eissa in January.
“They come from very different worlds,” the source said. “For years, Janet tried to adapt to his culture. Since it’s not a culture she grew up with, it’s been challenging for her. She often felt she disappointed Wissam.”

Although Jackson, 50, and the Qatari businessman have decided to end their marriage, the source said the pair will raise their son together.

News of the split comes just three months after Jackson and Al Mana welcomed their first child together. The pair has been married for five years.
The notoriously private couple secretly wed in 2012, but didn’t confirm the union until a year later.

“The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year we were married in a quiet, private and beautiful ceremony,” the couple told Entertainment Tonight at the time.
Jackson’s marriage to Al Mana was her third. The singer was previously wed to Rene Elizondo, Jr. and James DeBarge, although that marriage was later annulled.
