Booker T. Washington High School Principal Resigns

Oklahoma loses another educator to Texas.

Tulsa’s Washington High School principal Nanette Coleman has submitted her resignation. Coleman’s resignation will take effect Monday, Jan. 23, 2017. She is a BTW alum and has been the school’s principal since 2014.

Before becoming principal of BTW in 2014, Coleman served as principal of Rosedale Middle School and assistant principal of F.L. Schlagle High School in Kansas City, Kansas.

Coleman will be joining the International Leadership of Texas, a charter school operation. She will serve as its principal.

Retired Thoreau principal Tom Padalino is being brought back to serve as the interim principal at Booker T. Washington.

Padalino served as principal of Thoreau Demonstration Academy for nearly 20 years before retiring last summer. He also served as principal of Whitman Elementary, Byrd Middle School, Liberty Schools and Cascia Hall Preparatory.
