On Saturday, December 17, 2016, Sydnee Monday’s children’s play was performed at the White House – outside in the ‘President’s Park’. The play, Christmas with Callalo, was written in collaboration with an internship Sydnee had with Callaloo Children’s Media. It focused on cultural literacy for children.

The play utilized puppets and cultural holiday songs, like Feliz Navidad and Caribbean Steel Pan music. The musical followed Winston and Marisol (Callaloo characters) around their community, as they learned about their diverse neighborhood’s holiday traditions.
